LIVE: STEORN Demonstration of ORBO Power Cell – ONGOING TEST

The last we heard from Steorn was that they had some issues with a controller board used in the OCube and OPhone which was resulting in an issue with overcharging. They comitted themselves to fixing the overcharging issue and then test the new component/s before resuming shipping of the OCubes and OPhones.
A number of weeks have passed since the issue was first encountered, and then a couple of weeks ago Steorn said that they were working on a video along the lines of “streaming final tests’. Today they posted a link to a live streaming webcam of their ORBO power cell being continually shorted and recharged. They also just added a small motor to prove that work is being done. Although videos are never proof in their own right, by live-streaming this demonstration it goes a long way to proving the basic concept and hopefully this is a sign that the previous issue has been overcome.
Hardened sceptics will of course try and pick fault with the video, only to find that the rolling time and date is constantly displayed on the oscilloscope screen.
This is how Steorn announced the latest video which is posted On their Facebook page:
‘This video stream shows an ORBO Power Cell in long-term reliability testing.’
‘The test system comprises of an Orbo Power Cell that is being shorted through a relay at an approximate frequency of 50Hz ( 50 times a second ). The trace on the scope is the Orbo Power Cell voltage. The cell is being shorted and is recharging approximately 4.3 million times per day. Prior to the live stream commencing on 12th May 2016 the cell shown had been shorted and recharged in excess of 350 million times.’
Steorn later added: ‘We have added a small test motor to the live stream, this is a prototype and has only been in lab test for a week or so. Hence there may be a few teething problems, all of which you will get to see live on this channel!’
The LIVE STREAM can be found at the following url or you can view the embedded stream below.

And the live stream is now down, less than 24 hours later. The technology doesn’t work guys.

Seems to be up now. Use this link:

Quite a leap of logic, there. ••• But the video leaves a few things to be desired: It should have been done on a glass-top table. All wiring should have been visible. Ditto whatever’s driving the shorting relay. The blue rotary device should be identified and specified. Is this deceptive or simply sloppy? We don’t know. ••• But in the end, lab demos don’t matter if we can’t be there in person to vet them. Theory doesn’t matter. Beliefs one way or another don’t matter. Critiques don’t matter. Our comments don’t matter. The only thing that will matter will be users’ reports, well past the time when an equal weight of the finest lithium batteries would have been depleted.
I just checked the live stream and it’s still going strong – in fact I checked it several times in the last 24hrs. Maybe you’re internet connection is dodgy Jonathan?
Funny how the scope shows a 6 Hz signal.
Funny how the scope shows a constantly decreasing amplitude.
Seems to have dropped one division about 20%.
Seriously? “Hardened sceptics will of course try and pick fault with the video, only to find that the rolling time and date is constantly displayed on the oscilloscope screen.” No, ANY skeptic would take issue with this entire “test” as means of any kind of “evidence”. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
Isn’t it amazing how Steorn is acting exactly like a con artist would., only con artists often can demonstrate a working product?
Who advertises an entire line of phones and batteries for sale when they’re not even invented
When Steorn get something made for them by an outside firm (e.g. graphics, casings) I’m happy to see that it looks professional and doesn’t put Ireland to shame, unlike every single thing that Steorn do by themselves. These are possibly the worst presentation videos that I have ever seen from any commercial entity anywhere. Untrained children produce better videos.
But I digress.
If this “cell” is “recharging” continually, the obvious question is, how much charge? And since the test setup doesn’t measure current; we don’t know. It could be zero.
The motor’s not spinning anymore, and the square wave has dropped to 130mV.
So where is the charge controller hiding? I assume they are testing one as that’s what they said was the problem.
It’s funny how Steorn started out with a motor that didn’t need a battery at all. Now their new prototype motor needs a power cell, charge controller, and battery.
Well, progress is getting things to work as well as they used to.
You think so? At the bar everything worked more them better, why improving if it is working
your a joke
I have to say you don’t need to be a super skeptic to be unconvinced by this, a video on the internet for something like this proves absolutely nothing. Seriously only the most credulous of people would find this even vaguely convincing.
When they first announced their discovery I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and the chance to prove their claims. Despite the fact it would mean a major revision of the laws of physics, it was always possible that they where on to something.
However over the years they have convinced me that it’s a con they intend to keep spinning as long as possible, maybe it’s a social experiment to see how long people will believe an incredible claim you fail to substantiate. Maybe they thought that they had something, later discovered they where wrong and now don’t know how to back down.
What ever the case I would be truly amazed if they actually ever produce a working over unity device that continues to work outside of the dubious demos they post online. Certainly they have yet to produce anything vaguely convincing and they have had years.
Their failure to convince a jury of scientists, in 2009, should have been the end of them. But they pretend that the jury process itself failed, not the technology.
Shaun McCarthy generously takes the blame. Quote: “we went: ‘Come on, prove us wrong’ and they said, ‘Well, you can’t prove yourself right’.”
Was that an impossible request? How hard would it be to “prove themselves right”? All they had to do was show the equipment that convinced them in the first place!
Imagine if you went into your school exams with Mr. McCarthy’s attitude. You might sit down and write “I won’t answer these questions. I won’t prove that I know geography. It’s up to YOU to prove that I don’t!”
They are a bunch of clowns supporting eachother, before the sales i knew this would happen, the trend of them science is to gain money, build a circus, beeing active at all the forums under other names and drink a hudge glass of irish beer laughing at everyone that is to blind to see that they got a free beer provided by people that believe in miracles
I have just thought of an explanation for everything that Steorn do!
Do you know a movie called “The Producers”?
I had such high hopes for this farce to carry on a bit longer and all those stoned believers to run frenetically in even smaller circles and bump their heads at the walls of reality, erm, I mean pseudo-skepticism. Ah well, time to move on I suppose.
THIS, I have been following this for that very reason hahaha.
Why has no one tracked down the people they advertised as testers who claimed everything was amazing until they disappeared?
Also if you could develop free energy, wouldn’t you just sell the energy?
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Right now, they’re doing everything a con-artist does:
1. Bans critics
2. ALways delays
3. Disputes the laws of physics
4. Disagrees with the critics they hired.
5. Constantly broken promises,.
At this point investors get what they’re paying for.
Please don’t say that Steorn are “incompetent”. Not until you know where all that investment money went.
Looking at their premises and products, I can see only a couple of million expenditure, so I can’t account for 90% of what they supposedly received.
They may have a hidden agenda and they may be VERY competent at it.
You can’t trust E-cat world because the e-cat is another scam that’s never been validated to work.
Huh? What happened to that long summarizing comment on the testing by Frank and such? Truly an agonizing elegy, still, if you removed it, could you please at least fill the gaping hole it left in our little hearts with a contrarian tractate? Please? Just for the sheer fun of it?
Well, that motor’s been spinning for nearly 2 months, on and off, the square wave hovers between 150 and 200mV, the website hasn’t really changed, there still is no O’Phone, the O’Girl hasn’t reappeared, there’s been zero further communication from Steorn, and all I gotta say is: WTF ?
Hi Craig,
Would you care to comment on the last weeks’ events, or rather the lack of these? I for my part am still waiting for a refund, none of my emails being answered to. Was it really just a scam? Since my decision to order an Orbo was partially based on your coverage, I’d be more than eager to read your current opinion on Steorn.
Cheers from Joburg,
Diane
Hi Diane,
I’m in much the same situation myself. It seemed that all communication just stopped from them. As you will see from my last post I was eagerly awaiting an OCube and OPhone to start testing them, but I never received them to date.
I’ve tried to find out what’s happening at Steorn, but haven’t been able to so far.
Craig
On dispatchesfromthefuture.com they talked about an article in a newspaper in Ireland that said that Steorn was pulling their products out…then again, the next post on that same site seemed to contradict that. I dunno what is going on, but it’s a problem that the Steorn dudes are not communicating with their customers more at a time like this.
What should we expect ? One of the statements of steorn was, “… found a way to transform time to money”. They just left into some country, which will not deliver them to the proper court, to which they belong. For the ecat-world it is the same, and Frank Ackland is just a puppet, he banned me just for being sceptic. So, steorn, Rossi, ecat. All is scam, definitely. I now can say that, because now I do not need anymore proof. It is enough.
